What is Manna Meals That Matter?

Manna Meals That Matter is a food packing and distribution program that allows organizations and businesses to put their resources together with us and pack nutritious meals for the hungry here at home and around the world.

IMPACT WITH HOPE started meal packing events by partnering with Kids Against Hunger back in 2012. Over the years we have learned how to accomplish our meal packing events in a more cost-effective manner allowing us to pack more meals under our Manna Meals That Matter program!

After seeking advice from several sources to determine the nutritional requirements of children in the Toledo and surrounding areas, IMPACT, recognized the need to add additional meals. According to 2016 statistics, 78.8% of Toledo Public School students live below the poverty level. (Source: Most Current Lucas County Poverty Level)

We have all experienced hunger. Hunger is a craving or urgent need for food or a specific nutrient. Not all of us have experienced food insecurity. Food insecure people are those that at some point during the week literally don’t know where their next meal is coming from. Either they can’t afford to buy food or they don’t have access to food. It can be children deep in urban settings, families in rural Appalachia or Toledo, or people who are forced to make the decision between buying medicine or food.  (Source: USDA)

Manna Meals That Matter program is our way of reaching our goal of a Hunger Free Ohio!
