There are places in the United States where many people live in poverty. In general, poverty deprives people of adequate education, health care, and of life’s most basic necessities – living conditions (including clear air, drinking water, place and type of residence and building construction) and adequate food supply. The developed countries account roughly for 20 percent of the world’s population, but control about 80 percent of the world’s wealth. It seems poverty operates in a vicious cycle that, so far has been hard to break. Even in the developed nations, the gap between the rich and poor is evident in their respecitve social and environmental conditions.
The heart of IMPACT WITH HOPE’s programs in the United States is distributing food and supplies to children and their families in crisis. To do this we work closely with caring partners that donate surplus food and other supplies, as well as with individual donors who help offset the cost of transporting donated donations.
The Children’s LightHouse has assisted countless number of children and adults through the Children’s Medical Rehabilitation Program. Residents also have access to education to help improve their lives when they return to their home countries, They are able to live in a home environment at LightHouse through their recovery, something that would not have been possible without the assistance of many doctors, nurses, friends, families, and volunteers associated with IMPACT WITH HOPE.
